Monday 10thJune saw us making the final dash to our first true destination.  We traversed the “Billboard State” and soaked up the continual advertising for “Wall Drug”.  The interstate in South Dakota is festooned with billboards,  and many, I mean many, smaller minis promoting this place “Wall Drug”.  We have worked out that there is a town of “ WALL” in South Dakota.  We are looking to visit soon to find out why it needs or merits the amazing number of advertisements along the freeway.

This afternoon we went to Custer State Park.  It’s only named after Custer because he went there, got a county named after him, but lost his last stand in Montana.  The lady park ranger taking our cash was very quick to point that out!  The park is the most magnificent grass-lands you have ever seen, with Bison and Deer galore.  It is one of the largest state parks in the country.  Except this week the State National Guard have exercises in the park and parts are closed off and the animals are hiding.
