lI had never been to a real Rodeo, you know, real cowboys, bulls, steers etc.  Well I have to say it was an experience.  About 4,000 people packed into the local stadium at this Alberta town.  Families, Food Trucks, T shirts, all were there.  But the sense of community was obvious, even thought the weather had been really bad.  The arena had been flooded this morning so the whole rodeo surface was mud instead of dust.  I did get some splatters occasionally.  But the sun came out and it was an enthralling afternoon.  Steer Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and even similar competitions for kids, including sheep riding.  A great day was had by all with the final event a relay race around the race course between three indian Tribes.  These are real horsemen!  See if you can work out which event the pictures show.  (I have chosen what i think are the best of over 1.000 taken that afternoon – digital is great!)
