Biketoberfest is the fall version of BikeWeek, both in crazy Daytona, Florida, and both a real spectacle now challenging Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Fantasy Fest in Key West for the risqué dress of some of the participants. But all in all it’s good clean fun with beautiful and often imaginative bikes and people. I visited with a couple of Photography Club friends on Thursday of the six day event. There were obviously mainly Indian or Harley Davidson bikes, but there were a number of British Triumphs. I guess these triumphs are the only ones we can be described as a triumph at the moment!
All these bikes are cared for like precious gems, the paint jobs are phenomenal. Some of the characters are interesting, but they are all friendly, all there for fun and to show off their machines, and don’t be fooled. These are a lot of well heeled people, often professionals, and their appearance is very deceptive. If you can ever get there for the festivals it is a great experience.
I have posted a lot of pictures but I would like to miss the flavor of the event.
